It's Never Too Soon For Trails
Due to the crazy warm weather we've been having, the boys decided to get in a little
early trails maintenance.  Everyone seems to be itching to ride.  So, they possed up
and headed over to
Baker's Acres.  For
some reason the trails
in early spring look
very similar to a strip-
ped out car.  With all
the leaves on the
ground you can see
the bare bones beneath.
It's not pretty but it's
easy to see where the
majority of work lies.
In the acres case, she
pretty much needs re-
vamping.  Last year was
not good to the trails,
at all!  Despite the amount of work involved, everyone was stoked to begin.
Days like these typically mean; cold beers, good friends and
Uncle Curtis.  With the sun shining down through the trees and
the blue sky up above, the troops picked up their shovels/rakes
and dug in.  Because it was St. Patty's Day, the beer may have
flowed a bit too freely.  Not really sure since I was the first to
tie one on.  It's hard to keep an Irish man off the drink on that
day of the year!  You've got a better chance of meeting Jesus.
In fact, I hear Jesus
enjoys a cold pint
every once in a
while, too.  God,
love him!  That's
not to say that the
boys didn't accom-
plish any work,
though.  In just a short span of time they had some parts of it ridable.  Tommy B
and Monkey Boy were able to take advantage of it a day or so later.  The plan now
is to meet there every Wednesday and weekends, weather permitting.  We're very
excited about reviving the acres and making them better than ever.  They will
require a lot of work but it will be a labor of love!   With gas prices skyrocketing
and cheap entertainment in short supply, some of us will be keeping close to
home.  I, personally, can't think of anything better than warm days; cool woods,
great company and  wet beers!
